Doug O'Neill and Calumet Farm team up with blue-blooded firster TERM OF ART (Tiznow), a $220,000 Keeneland September yearling buy out of a full-sister to GISW Mr. Sidney. The colt's second dam is MGISW Tomisue's Delight (A.P. Indy), who is out of MGISW and 2003 Broodmare of the Year Prospectors Delite (Mr. Prospector), making her a full to 2003 Horse of the Year and successful sire Mineshaft, as well as a half to MGSW Monashee Mountain (Danzig). The bay shows a quintet of five-furlong works in preparation for this debut, most recently covering the distance from the gate in 1:01 2/5 over this strip July 17. Preakness winning conditioner Keith Desormeaux will lead over $450,000 Fasig-Tipton August yearling grad Surf Shack (Malibu Moon), a full-brother to MGSW/GISP Kauai Katie, who aired by 12 lengths with a 100 Beyer Speed Figure in her 2012 debut at Saratoga, as well as GSW sprinter Winding Way. His dam, More Than Pretty (More Than Ready), was multiple stakes-placed as a juvenile and a stakes-winning sprinter at 3. O'Neill will also be represented by fast-working Farley (Distorted Humor), the first foal out of MGSW Hot Summer (Malibu Moon). The $285,000 KEESEP purchase displays a slew of sharp drills, completing his preparation for this unveiling with a five-furlong spin in :59 3/5 July 18 at his trainer's Los Alamitos base.
